‘ 少年と牛, 2008  /  Boy & Cow, 2008  ’

■ ‘ 少年と牛 ’　のテーマはこれまでも数回取り組んで来たテーマです。
‘ 少年と牛, 2008 ’ 　は 2016年に油彩で制作された　‘ 少年と牛、荒野 ’　の基となった
水彩作品です。　90年代半ばに旅したインドで見た光景が今でも脳裏に強く焼き付いています。またその光景と禅画の十牛図も重なるものがあります。

■　I have drawn the theme  ‘ Boy & Cow ’ a several times.
The oil painting  ‘ Boy & Cow - Wildness,  2016 ’  is baseed the watercolour drawing
‘ Boy & Cow,  2008 ’.  This theme was inspired my travel experience in India in the mid 90's.  And this theme links Zen picture  ‘ Ten Ox Herding Pictures ’.

■ ‘ 少年と牛, 2008 ’　から更に少年像のイメージを明確に表現し、牛との配置構成も含めて作品全体のイメージを再検証をすることから開始した。
少年の年齢は小学低学年前後に設定し、服装はインドの子供には定番のショールとニット帽を着用。牛のサイズを画面全体に拡大し人との優位性と母性を前面に出し、そして主題を包み込むインド的環境設定も最重要事項として取り組んだ。灼熱の乾いた大地に迫る静的な闇を画面上部に、生命力を象徴するモンスーンの黒雲を画面下方に分割して配置し、極限的な厳しい自然環境ならではの感動とドラマ性を強調するようスケッチを重ねた。

■　I started to review ‘ Boy & Cow, 2008 ’ to recreate the new base image,  because the new work is needed more characterized boy and re-positioning of two main subjects.  The age of boy is identified around 6 years old and wears shawl and knit hat as common clothes of Indian children.  And I highlighted dominance and motherhood of the cow with enlarging the body scale of it.  Also I emphasized Indian environment as the most important element too,  that covers the thole subject in the painting.
I sketched repeatedly to provide emotion and dramatic image by setting up looming of static darkness upper side upon the extreme heated dry ground and dark monsoon clouds at the bottom which symbolizes vitality.

F50号キャンバスと同じ比率に格子を配して構図を決定。同配置をキャンバス下絵にし、油彩を重ねて行く作業を進める。
The final sketch on same rate of F50 size canvas with grid. The sketch transfered as the base drawing on canvas then coloured by oil paintings.
